Gloucoma Screening

Drivers licence vision screening.

According to Legislation, Regulation 102, any person who is a valid licence holder should have specific visual requirements. This eye test is done every five years when you renew your drivers licence.

The requirements differ for different license codes.

Tests for drivers licence screening are:

Visual Acuity: this procedure determines how well you can see an object and the underlying details from a specific distance.

Visual field: this is an examination procedure that detects dysfunction in central and peripheral vision which may be caused by various medical conditions such as glaucoma, stroke, brain tumours or other neurological deficits.

Drivers licence screening can be done with your routine  eye test or separately as drivers screening test.

You need to pass the tests as per the requirements of your driver’s licence code.  The Optometrist can only provide letter or certificate if you have passed the tests.

Rosemedvision will provide with the letter or certificate that you take to the traffic department. The traffic department cannot test you again or reject the letter from  the optometrist.
